Special Education

What Special Education is all about :

Special Education in Manitouwadge High School is aimed towards creating a positive learning environment that encourages the disadvantaged students to utilize their skills and knowledge in the most efficient manner in order to learn new concepts. Many hands-on materials are used to encourage learning, such as a counting table with removable numbers, a weather calendar to associate weather with what the students see in the outdoors, touchable objects to stimulate the senses, such as balls, cubes, and different textured objects, and a ping pong table to make learning more fun and appealing to the students. Special Education is not only open to students with mental disabilities, but also students with mild learning disabilities or students who need additional help with different concepts they are learning.
